Middletown Relay For Life - June 2

The 20th Annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life will be Saturday, June 2 at Silver Lake Park. Teams will walk around the track to honor and remember lives lost to cancer and to raise money for cancer research.

Events will begin with registration for the 5K run/walk at 7:30am with the run beginning at 8:30am. Register at http://www.triassicsports.com and click on “Relay for Life 5K – 6/12/18.

From 11am-2pm there will be the Relay for Life Car Show with registration starting at 10am. All makes and model cars are welcome. Spectators can view the cars for free and take part in the judging for $1 a vote.  

The opening ceremony takes place at 4pm which includes the Survivor Lap where cancer survivors take the first lap and get treated to a meal. Bricks will be installed in the Walk of Hope, the brick sidewalk in the park to honor loved ones. The Kids Area will be open from 4:30-8:30pm with inflatables, games and snacks for a $2 donation per child. Cuts for the Cure is at 7pm where volunteers donate a portion of their hair to make wigs for cancer patients.

At 9pm, the Luminaria Ceremony will be held with white bags with a candle inside circling the track to honor a loved one. Purple bags can be dedicated to caregivers by cancer survivors. The closing ceremony will be at 10:30pm.
