Odessa's Tax Rate To Remain The Same

The Odessa mayor and council met on Monday, June 4 with council member Lindsay Rice absent. Mayor Kathleen Harvey said the town’s budget looks fine as the town is closing out the Fiscal Year with several parts coming in under budget for the year.

The council briefly discussed the May report from the Historic Commission concerning the property at 505 Main Street where the Commission rejected much of the repair options presented by the property owner. Mayor Kathleen Harvey said the owner is putting the property up for sale and said that the owner purchased the property with the intent to flip it, but apparently is now putting the property back on the market.

Mayor Harvey said the town is looking into repair options on the town’s streetlights due to bad weather early in the year. The town also approved their Fiscal Year 2018-2019 tax rate which will hold steady from last year. Also, the town approved the compensation for the town clerk and town secretary.
