Wilmington – The Delaware State Police have arrested 50 year old Lewis H. Pinkett 3rd, of Delaware City, in connection with the armed robbery of the Circle K gas station, located at 1801 Concord Pike, Wilmington.

During the incident which occurred at approximately 11:55 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2020, a male suspect confronted an employee at the sales counter and demanded money, while implying that he had a weapon. The employee complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then fled on foot northbound on Concord Pike. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

Through various investigative measures detectives were able to identify a black, Chevy Venture mini-van as a vehicle involved in the robbery, which was then positively linked to Pinkett. On Wednesday, January 22, 2020 Troopers located the vehicle in the Duross Heights neighborhood of New Castle. Pinkett was also located in the area and taken in to custody without incident. A subsequent search of the vehicle produced evidence further linking Pinkett to the robbery.

Pinkett was charged with one count of Robbery 1st Degree and then committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail.
