Wilmington – The Delaware State Police have arrested Philip W. Jones Jr., 51, and Jeron D. Brown, 55, both of Wilmington in connection with two recent commercial burglaries.

On Sunday, February 9, 2020 at approximately 7:35 p.m., Troopers responded to I.D. Griffith, located at 735 S. Market St., in reference to two subjects inside the fenced yard of the business attempting to steal property. Upon arriving on scene Troopers observed two subjects running through the property of Casper’s Auto Parts which is located next door to I.D. Griffith. The subjects, who were positively identified as Jones and Brown, were taken in to custody without incident as they attempted to make their way back to an awaiting vehicle which they had staged nearby.

Through further investigation detectives were able to confirm that Jones and Brown were the subjects who were seen running on the property of ID Griffith. A check of the business property determined that the pair had accessed an assortment of mechanical equipment and construction materials that they were intending to steal, when they were interrupted by the responding Troopers. During the investigation into this most recent burglary detectives were also able to link the pair to a prior burglary at ID Griffith that occurred on January 20, 2020 in which a large quantity of power tools had been stolen.

  • Attempted Theft Less than $1500.00
