Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Weapon Charges- Dover

Dover- The Delaware State Police have arrested Drew E. Forrester, 24, 0f Clayton, DE, after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a firearm and drugs.
The incident occurred on February 21, 2020 at approximately 8:22 p.m., on N. Dupont Highway, Dover, when a Trooper initiated a traffic stop on 2008 Grey Dodge Charger for having window tint without a waiver. Upon contact with the driver and sole occupant, Drew Forrester, an odor of marijuana was detected.
A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted and the following was located:
- Unloaded Taurus .40 handgun
- A fully loaded (15 rounds) magazine
- Approximately 58.01 grams of Marijuana
Forrester was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 9 where he was charged with the following:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon A Firearm
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon By Person Who Also Possesses a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Marijuana
- Operating a Vehicle With Improper Window Tinting
Forrester was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on his own recognizance.
