Newark – The Delaware State Police have arrested 31 year old Sean Biddison of Newark, on multiple weapon related offenses as a result of a vehicle stop that occurred early Tuesday morning in the parking lot of a Newark area shopping center.

At approximately 1:42 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2020 a Trooper who was on routine patrol in the area of Capitol Trail and Possum Park Rd., noticed illuminated taillights on a vehicle that was parked in the lot of the Possum Park Mall. Upon approaching the vehicle, which was determined to be a Honda CRV with Pennsylvania tags, the Trooper observed two subjects in the vehicle acting suspiciously. He then made contact with the driver of the vehicle, who was later identified as Biddison along with an adult female who was the front seat passenger. Biddison was unable to provide identification when requested and when the Trooper asked for additional paperwork for the vehicle the female proceeded to retrieve it from the glove box. When the glove box was opened the Trooper immediately observed a handgun in plain view. Both Biddison and the passenger were immediately taken in to custody. The weapon was determined to be a Smith & Wesson 40 caliber handgun which was loaded with 13 rounds of hollow point ammunition.

Biddison was transported to Troop 6 where he was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
  • Possession of Ammunition by a Person Prohibited
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon

Biddison was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #11 and released on $7500.00 unsecured bond.

The female was not charged in this incident.
