by Pat Haley

New Castle – The Delaware State Police have arrested Marshay Price, 28, of New Castle and Raymond Davis, 26, of New Castle in connection with an illegal gun purchase.

On Saturday, August 8, 2020, at 11:20 p.m., Price responded to Delaware State Police Troop 2 to report that her handgun was stolen from her vehicle overnight while parked at the Best Knights Inn located at 1200 West Avenue, New Castle, DE. During the course of the investigation Troopers were able to determine that Price was making a false report about the theft. It was learned that Price had actually purchased the handgun from Miller’s Gun Shop in New Castle, for her boyfriend- Ronald Davis, who is a person prohibited from owning or possessing a weapon. It was also learned that neither suspect possessed the handgun any longer. Both suspects made contradicting statements on the location of the gun. Price advised she discarded of it in an unknown river, and Davis advised he gave it to another subject.

The whereabouts of the Sig Sauer P226 9mm handgun are unknown at this time.

On August 9, 2020, Price turned herself in at Troop 2, where she was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following:

  • Giving a Firearm To Person Prohibited (Felony)
  • Engaging in a Firearms Transaction on Behalf of Another (Felony)
  • Hindering Prosecution (Felony)
  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)
