Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Drug Charges Wilmington

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police arrested 27 year-old Kevron Williams of New Caste, DE after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs.

The incident occurred on August 26, 2020, at approximately 10:18 p.m., when a Trooper observed a black Infiniti passenger car traveling westbound on 7th Street approaching North West Street with dark tinted taillights. The Trooper then observed the vehicle come to a stop in the middle of the roadway on 7th Street and perform an apparent drug transaction. The Trooper pulled out and observed the operator fail to use a turn signal before initiating a traffic stop on Lancaster Avenue and N. DuPont Street. Contact was made with operator, Williams and an odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.

A subsequent search of Williams vehicle, led to the discovery of approximately 10.09 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, and over $900 in suspected drug proceeds. Williams was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession With Intent To Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Failure to Signal
  • Rear Lamps and Reflectors Red Color

Williams was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and released on $2,602.00 unsecured bond.
