Troopers Arrest Philadelphia Man on Weapons Charges- New Castle

New Castle- Delaware State Police have arrested 27-year-old Malik Gordon of Philadelphia, PA, on weapons charges.

The incident occurred on January 18, 2021, at approximately 1:04 p.m., when Troopers on patrol in a known high crime area observed a subject holding a gun walking through the Superlodge motel parking lot located at 1213 West Avenue, New Castle. Troopers made contact with the subject identified as Malik Gordon and confirmed he was legally possessing the firearm. During conversation with Gordon, troopers observed a second handgun concealed on his person. Troopers recovered the two loaded handguns from Gordon and he was taken into custody without incident.

Gordon was transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)

He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and released on a $17,000 unsecured bond.
