Camden Man Arrested on Assault Charges- Dover

Dover- Troopers arrested 31-year-old Kurt Ruffin of Camden on weapon and related charges following a physical altercation Thursday afternoon.

On April 22, 2021, at approximately 2:25 p.m., troopers responded to Harriet Street for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, troopers located the 36-year-old male victim bleeding from a laceration to an upper extremity. The investigation revealed the victim was at the residence when Ruffin, an acquaintance, arrived at the residence. A verbal altercation ensued between the two individuals about a previous incident when Ruffin pulled a knife located on his person and threatened to harm the victim. Ruffin approached the victim and began swinging the knife at him when the weapon cut the victim. After other individuals separated the victim and Ruffin at the residence, Ruffin left the area in a vehicle with another individual. Ruffin was contacted and instructed to respond to Troop 3, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Assault 2nd Degree (Felony)
  • Terroristic Threatening

Ruffin was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and issued an $8,500.00 unsecured bond. 

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for his injury, where he was treated and released.
