New Castle- Delaware State Police have arrested Ezekiel Sullivan, 28, of New Castle, DE, for robbery and related charges following an incident early this morning.

On Thursday, January 27, 2022, at approximately 12:30 a.m., troopers responded to the Superlodge Motel, located at 1213 West Ave. New Castle, DE 19720, regarding a knife point robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, troopers contacted a 31-year-old male victim who advised he was standing in front of his motel room when a suspect approached him displaying an orange pocketknife. The suspect demanded the victim back into his motel room, and once inside the suspect removed electronics and an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect put the stolen items into a white pillowcase and fled. The victim described the suspect as a black male, average build, six feet tall, with dreadlocks, and wearing all black clothing with a black ski mask.

Shortly after making contact, troopers and New Castle County police officers canvassed the Superlodge Motel for a possible suspect. Just prior to 1:00 a.m., an individual matching the suspect description emerged from a motel room. Contact was made with subject identified as Ezekiel Sullivan. A search incident to arrest of Sullivan produced an orange pocketknife, a black ski mask, and one of the victim’s stolen items.

Sullivan was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Robbery 1st Degree (Felony)
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of Felony (Felony)
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon by Person Prohibited (Felony)
