Delaware State Police Investigating Robbery of Gas Station- Newark

Newark– Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a Newark area gas station that occurred last night.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m., Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the Exxon gas station, located at 4600 Ogletown Stanton Road, Newark, when troopers responded to an armed robbery. Investigation determined a male suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and approached a male employee behind the sales counter. The suspect demanded money from the cash register and the employee complied. The suspect the fled the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, westbound towards the Harbor Club Apartments. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male approximately 5’8-”5’10” tall, wearing all dark clothing and a mask.
