Suspect Arrested - Troopers Investigating Gas Station Robbery

Delaware State Police have arrested Daniel Eddy, 18, of Wilmington, for the armed robbery of a gas station that occurred in December of 2022.

On December 26, 2022, troopers responded to the Exxon gas station at 5301 Concord Pike in Wilmington for a reported armed robbery. The investigation revealed that a male suspect entered the business and confronted an employee while displaying a handgun. The suspect then demanded money and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Through investigative leads, detectives were able to identify Daniel Eddy as the suspect in this armed robbery, and they obtained a warrant. On January 3, 2023, troopers responded to Eddy’s residence, where they observed him outside the home. He was taken into custody while attempting to enter a vehicle. That vehicle had previously been reported stolen from the New Castle County Police Department’s jurisdiction. Eddy was transported to Troop #2, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Robbery First Degree (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)

Eddy was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court # 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $55,000 cash bail.
