State Police Investigating Carjacking

The Delaware State Police are investigating a carjacking that took place in New Castle early this morning.

On July 10, 2023, at approximately 3:58 a.m., troopers responded to the area of New Castle Avenue and Cherry Lane for a report of a carjacking that had just occurred. Troopers met with a 42-year-old woman and learned that three unknown males had rear ended her car multiple times while she was traveling on New Castle Avenue. She stated two of the suspects approached her car while she was stopped and demanded she get out while pointing firearms at her. The victim complied and the suspects took the car and both vehicles fled northbound on New Castle Avenue. The victim was not injured.

The Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating this incident. Detectives are asking for anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective R.
