Detectives Arrest Man for Gun Offenses

The Delaware State Police arrested Demetrice Hill, 19, of Dover, Delaware on gun offenses on July 27, 2023.

On July 2, 2023, at approximately 6:35 p.m., troopers responded to a shooting at a large party at the soccer field located at the 200 block of Lewis Drive in Dover. Troopers located a 30-year-old woman with a gunshot wound and discovered two vehicles had been struck by gunfire. Through investigative means, Detectives identified Demetrice Hill as one of the suspects involved in the shooting.

On July 27, 2023, Detectives contacted Hill at his residence and executed a search warrant. Hill was taken into custody and taken to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Under 21 (Felony) – 2 counts
  • Carrying a Concealed Firearm (Felony)

Hill was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $45,000 cash bond.
