The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office has determined that a fire that heavily damaged a New Castle, Delaware home this morning was accidental.

The Good Will Fire Company responded to the unit block of Monticello Boulevard in the Jefferson Farms neighborhood shortly after midnight.  Firefighters arrived on the scene with flames shooting from the rear of the house.

Deputy fire marshals responded to the location when called to complete an investigation into the circumstances of the fire.  The fire originated inside a 2nd floor bedroom when faulty electrical wiring sparked the blaze.

Fire damage was estimated at $75,000.  One adult and one juvenile were displaced.  The American Red Cross was asked to provide emergency assistance to the displaced residents.
