A Smyrna man who pleaded guilty of murdering his wife before her remains were recovered by police, was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

On Friday, April 13, the Delaware Attorney General’s Office announced that 35-year-old Cortez Hamilton was sentenced by a Superior Court judge to 25 years, followed by one year of work release and two years probation. This is in connection with the January 2015 death of his wife Keisha who was reported missing and the husband fled to Indiana with their two children before he was arrested by Indiana State Police a few weeks later. In January 2018, Hamilton pleaded guilty and provided information that led to Smyrna Police recovering her body.
