With the holiday season just around the corner, the Delaware Natural Resources Police will begin collecting toys on Friday, Nov. 3.

In cooperation with Delmarva Power’s Emergency Services Partnership Program, and Lowe’s of Brandywine Town Center, the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office has received over 1,100 10-year lithium-ion battery smoke detectors.

As clocks are about to fall back to Eastern Standard Time and the days and daylight shorten, it’s also a dangerous time of year to be on the road because of the annual white-tailed deer mating season known as the rut.
