Middletown and Smyrna Dominate Delaware's All-State Football Team

Several MOT area football players made the Delaware All-State team. The All-State team was dominated by players from state runner-up Middletown who placed 8 players on the team while state champion Smyrna placed 7 on the team. Appoquinimink and St. George’s also placed a player each on the All-State Team.

Middletown’s first team All-State players include quarterback Drew Fry, receiver Kenny Edelin, guard Ahmod Westbrook, and linebacker Kedrick Whitehead. Kedrick was also the second team running back and other MHS players on the second team include center James Faragher, defensive end Jon Smith and Ernest Washington who made the second team both in secondary and as a kick returner. Finally Nicky Johnston of MHS made the Third Team as a receiver.

 All seven of Smyrna’s All-State players were on the First Team and include running back Will Knight, receiver Emon Roberts, center Ty-Key Moore, offensive tackle Saleem Wormley, defensive end Hunter Moyer, defensive tackle Desmond Wilson and linebacker Darryl Williams.

 

Robert Jadick of Appoquinimink made the Third Team as a fullback and Jhemir Stanley of St. Georges made the Third Team as a defensive tackle.
